PERSONALITY Misty is a free-spirted, earthy, and lonely young woman who is still searching for a place to belong. As a result of being betrayed and killed by her own people, then living alone deep in the swamps, she is desperate for genuine affection and love, quickly attaching herself to anyone who shows her kindness, though there is always that underlying fear of abandonment. Misty has a deep connection to the natural world, finding great solace in her gardens and in the wildlife of the Louisiana swamps. She loves all animals, even dangerous ones like alligators, going through great lengths to protect them and despising anyone who brings harm to an animal. This compassion extends to humans as well - if she senses a recent untimely death, she will seek out the person in order to revive them or she will take in an injured person and personally nurse them back to health with her magic. However, despite her kind nature, Misty can be very vindictive and is capable of great violence when she or someone/something she loves is threatened. In a fight, she does not depend solely on her magic - she is quite willing to use her fists too. Misty views herself as a white witch, using her magic for good, and sees her powers as a gift from God. Even after being burned at the stake by her church community, she maintains her belief in God, though she is much more spiritual than religious, having very little formal education in theological matters. For that matter, she is not highly educated at all, and that, along with her dreaminess, naivety, and backwoods upbringing, often leads people to think she’s unintelligent, when actually she proves to be an eager student.
