What circumstances!

[That comes out more as a demand than a question. Everyone leaves and no one ever gives a good reason for it.]

[Leia freezes at the question--if it can be called a question at all. Don't ask, she wants to say, but people are going to find out. She might as well be the one to tell them.

She sits down at the galley table, summoning all her energy in hopes that she doesn't sound as uncertain as she feels about this.]

...I have a daughter, apparently. She's from my future.

[... okay almost never have a reason for it. Misty’s still upset at losing Leia, but her anger almost immediately dissipates. In fact, she goes so far as to hug Leia, throwing her arms around her shoulders.]

Well of course you have to go to her!

[She pulls back and grips Leia’s hands emphatically.]

She’s lucky to have such a good mama.

[What’s that like, having a family who gives a shit about you, even when they never even knew you existed?]

I hope she does.

[The way Misty's emotions turn on a dime is intense, to say the least, but at least she seems a little less miserable. And the hug is sweet of her. When she pulls away, Leia gives her a tentative smile.]

She's more than half my age. I've got a lot to learn about parenting--and fast.

You should talk to Castle! He's a dad ain't he?

...That's not a bad idea.

[And it's not something Leia would have thought of. The perpetual tangled drama of her family ties isn't something she wants to share, for the most part...but this would be something small. Mostly unrelated.]
